William Hackett Chain Products Limited was established in 1892 as a Chain Assembly Maker developing markets throughout various industrial sectors including Marine and Engineering. In October 2013, William Hackett Chains successfully completed the acquisition of competitor Bradney Chain & Engineering Co. Ltd. to help create the UK’s largest chain products manufacturer. Due to the diversity and scale that the William Hackett Group reached and our commitment to continuing the growth, in 2016 we created two new trading companies based broadly around product types. William Hackett Chain Products and William Hackett Lifting Products.
Based in the heart of the Black Country in the West Midlands, William Hackett Chain Products currently manufacture & supply Bulk Chain, Bespoke Mooring Chain Assemblies and associated Components, in both Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel for all industry but primarily the Marine industry sector - Aids to Navigation (AtoN), Aquaculture & Leisure Moorings, throughout the UK & Ireland and further afield. We pride ourselves on the service that we offer, all goods are dispatched promptly via our dedicated haulage service.
We hold a vast range of Short, Mid & Long Link Chain, Self-Colour & Galvanized – from 6mm to 42mm as well as associated hardware, shackles and swivels etc. and stock Stainless Steel Chain up to 20mm diameter. We also hold small stocks of Stud Link Chain but have access to the complete range of chain and fittings (up to 120mm Ø) in both Gr.U2 & U3 through our comprehensive supply chain network. Within our manufacturing department, we have the capability of bending and welding of up to 60mm diameter and manufacture a vast range of bespoke mooring assemblies from Single Point Swinging Moorings / AtoN All-Welded Mooring Assemblies to Single, Double,Triple & Qaud Leg Bridles for mooring applications. Along with Cast & concrete sinkers we also offer a range of used chain.
As part of our on-going commitment to the quality of our products, the environment in which we live and work and the health and safety of our workforce, all our business activities are controlled within a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015; ISO 14001:2015; ISO 45001:2018. William Hackett offers full traceability on our chain, and we hand stamp a serial number every 1 meter. We also have the quality systems in place.
We can offer an All-Welded Assembly (so no shackles required in the makeup of the Mooring Assembly itself) as we have the capacity to bend and weld links that other chain suppliers cannot offer, we always try and promote this type of ‘All-Welded’ assembly – it is more durable and with fewer ‘weak links’ (which shackles potentially are). Our accreditation ensures that we have full traceability on all products supplied with records held in excess of 10 years.
