PIANC is the global organisation providing guidance and technical advice for a sustainable waterborne transport infrastructure to ports, marinas and waterways.
Established in 1885, PIANC is one the oldest technical associations that has changed noticeably over the years, adapting to the respective contemporary requirements of issues pertaining to waterborne transport infrastructure. Some of the 21st century’s challenges involve sustainable development, climate change, the need for working with nature and digitalisation.
The host
The South African chapter of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC SA) is pleased to announce Abstract Submissions for the 35th PIANC World Congress 2024 are now open.
On behalf of the Planning Committee invitations have been extended to
contributors to participate in this prestigious event.
Theme
The theme of the Congress is: Future Ready Waterborne Transport –
Unlocking Africa. This theme aims to address the works necessary in creating a sustainable maritime sector, with a preferred focus on Africa.
The congress will include presentations of technical papers in all practices of the waterborne transportation environment, including project management, consulting, construction, and research and development.
The venue will be the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
First Announcement
The First Announcement provides details of the range of topics to be considered and advises how to submit abstracts and the programme for review.
