Harbour Master
Harbour Masters
Worldwide there are approximately 3,000 merchant ports and the work of the Harbour Master can vary widely from country to country and from port to port even within the same country.

Hefring Marine: The Marine Intelligence Company
Hefring Marine has joined the International Harbour Masters' Association as a commercial member. Our platform IMAS, the Intelligent Marine Assistance System, combines edge AI hardware, real-time on-board guidance, and fleet-wide analytics into one integrated intelligence platform.
We operate in 17 countries worldwide, including deployment with the Dutch Pilots' Organisation (Loodswezen), where IMAS provides operational intelligence to one of the busiest port complexes in the world. For harbour and port fleet operators, IMAS has reduced fuel consumption by up to 20% and high-impact wave slamming exposure by up to 87%, protecting crew welfare and extending vessel service life.

IMAS gives shore-side fleet managers live vessel tracking, trip reporting, and configurable alerts across speed, impact severity, geofence boundaries, and predictive maintenance. It also evaluates multiple speed and course scenarios in real time, forecasting impact probability to provide seakeeping guidance in challenging sea states.
IMAS is deployed fleet-wide with ICE-SAR and the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue, with over 1.4 million nautical miles of operational data captured in some of the most challenging environments on the planet.
