Port-Safety have attracted an investment from Ultranav to grow the business and expand the pursuit of improved marine safety and savings lives. Together with the investment from Ultranav, additional funding has been secured from The Danish Growth Fund (“Vækstfonden”).
Per Lange from Ultranav is joining as new Chairman of the Board. He states “Port-Safety has developed a unique and patented product that can make a real difference in critical situations within the maritime world. On top of the safety improvements, it is also a very convincing attribute that LifeLadder offers to cut the carbon footprint to less than half compared with traditional solutions”. Per brings more than 40 years of maritime and shipping experience from A.P. Moller-Maersk, EAC and Ultranav. Per adds: “Ultranav have a strong international network, which could benefit the Port-Safety going forward”.
“We are excited to have closed this deal, as it allows us to accelerate our global growth ambitions and further improve our contribution to saving lives”, comments Managing Director Kim Haaning, and adds “Ultranav comes with a proud maritime heritage, market insights, and a strong network across customers and suppliers. We look very much forward to the value this new cooperation can bring”.
Since LifeLadder was launched in mid-2018, sales have reached more than 30 countries. Additional products focused on solar powered lighting to ensure the access to safety is visible at night, have been created, and complementary products focused on quay wall safety have been included in the portfolio. Likewise, the Sales Partner network has expanded across the globe and is expected to continue doing so.
Port-Safety – in the business of saving lives Port-Safety has developed LifeLadder©, an innovative product that improves safety around wharfs and quay walls. LifeLadder©’s signature bright yellow colour ensures visibility throughout the day, and the solar powered LightUnit illuminates the ladder and provides visibility during the night. LifeLadder© has a significantly lower weight than the traditional alternative and is easy to handle and install.
