Harbour Master
Harbour Masters
Worldwide there are approximately 3,000 merchant ports and the work of the Harbour Master can vary widely from country to country and from port to port even within the same country.

The Moroccan Port Officers' Association (ACOPM), which includes all the Harbour Masters and Port Officers of Morocco, has objectives to promote the profession of Port Officer and participate in the development of Moroccan ports by being a force for proposals and synergies between the different port stakeholders.
In addition to other activities, every two years the ACOPM organizes its important event "National Harbour Master Office Day " (JONACA) in partnership with Moroccan Port Authorities.
The 4th edition of this event "JONACA 4" will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Tangier and will be an excellent opportunity for port authorities and various Maritime and Port stakeholders from Morocco and other European and African countries to meet.
Please find below information about this event:
Please contact Captain Mohammed Amine EL FATMI, Président ACOPM, m.elfatmi@tmsa.ma for further details.

Harbour safety is a critical concern for port and terminal operators, yet traditional safety equipment often falls short—prone to corrosion, high maintenance costs, and poor visibility in critical situations. These challenges put workers at risk and increase operational inefficiencies.
International efforts to curb greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from shipping took a step forward as the IMO's Intersessional Working Group on Reduction of GHG Emissions from Ships (ISWG-GHG 18) concluded its latest round of discussions.
