Worldwide there are approximately 3,000 merchant ports and the work of the Harbour Master can vary widely from country to country and from port to port even within the same country.
The Port of Sillamäe (SILPORT), Estonia, is the most eastern port of the EU, located only 25 km from the EU-Russian border and is one of the largest private ports in the EU. It is a relatively new, multifunctional deep-sea port. Natural depth at the quaysides of the port are sufficient for servicing the largest vessels that can enter the Baltic Sea through the Danish Straights. The port was opened for navigation in 2005 and offers an infra- and superstructure capable of handling all cargo groups from oil-products and dry bulk to containerised cargo.
After careful consideration the European Harbour Masters' Committee and event host, the Port of Sillamäe, have decided not to hold the biennial EHMC seminar in 2021. There is too much uncertainty in people’s abilities and willingness to travel this coming autumn/winter to make the necessary preparations for a live event.
Holding the seminar in Autumn 2022 or Spring 2023 will be considered at a later stage, and we will keep you posted on any developments. In any event, the venue will remain the port of Sillamäe, Estonia.

By joining forces and expertise, the two companies have designed and built a simple to operate compact quayside Shore Power Dispenser System, which can be operated by just one crew member.
The modular design allows an extension of the dispenser system to provide higher charging power capacities easily. Each cable dispenser module can handle 500A current capacity (up to 1000V AC).
